Review:

We had not read the first book in the series so we had no idea what to expect. We are both fans now....

This crime/mystery kept us on the edge of our seats. The characters were great and drew us in from the beginning. We really enjoyed how each chapter grew the story and mystery. Introducing new characters through out the entire book.

Really enjoyed Steel's character and the characters that support the rest of the story are just as strong. If you love crime and mystery you will really enjoy this book!

Review:

Too short but I loved it! I really wanted to know what happens next! I loved the characters but I found parts a little predictable. I would have loved more details in some scenes. the witty humor was fun and who doesn't love a hunky billionaire.

My favorite part of this book was the beginning! It drew me in and wouldn't let me go. The library scene was perfect for setting up this story! I thought it was hilarious too.

LEANN'S REVIEW: Brody's Love (Amy Gregory) Racing to Love #1.5

Title: Brody's Love

Author: Amy Gregory

Series: Racing to Love

ISBN: 9781938404436

Format: Ebook

Summary:

Racing to Love ~ Brody’s Love

A Gift Novella from the Racing to Love Series

Erin was truly the girl next door. Sweet, fun, and easy-going. The epitome of the old cliché, but added to it…her kiss-me brown eyes. Growing up, they were only separated by a stream and a few hundred acres. Brody finally noticed her when they were both fourteen. He fell in love a handful of years later. Completely in love, they’d been together since.

He knew her inside and out, knew her heart, knew her body. Or so he thought.

What he initiated as a playful lover’s game earlier in the morning had flipped a one-eighty. What he hadn’t expected was that his kind and gentle Erin would up the ante.

Suddenly, Brody finds himself playing with fire.

Review:

This great read is short and sweet. The perfect little novella to tell Brody's story. Beautifully written and answers a few of the questions you had in the first book.

Since it comes after the first book very little background is needed, which leaves the author to get right into the story. I loved this little romance that has blossomed over years of love and friendship. It is a great read and a great filler in between books. If you are a fan of this series it is a must read.

COVER REVEAL: Yes, Master (Margaret Mcheyzer)

COVER REVEAL

Yes, Master by Margaret McHeyzer

December 28th, 2013

*Yes, Master is set to release on February 19th, 2014*

BLURB:

My uncle raped me.

I was 10 years old when it started.

At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop.

At 16 I was ready to kill him.

Today, I’m broken.

Today, I only breathe to survive.

My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.

“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.”

“Master?”

“Stella.”

Oh, Master.

EXCERPT:

“It’s just such a difficult situation.”

“Of course it’s difficult.” She stops talking and taps her fingernails again. My eyes go to where she’s tapping, and then follow up to her face. I try to avoid her abrasive orbs. “You’re overpowered by agony and torment, and it’s slowly claiming you day by day.”

I finally concede and look into Stella's eyes. Because every word she’s said, and every sentence that she’s breathed out has been so accurate about me.

“Freedom,” she says as I intake a huge gulp of air at that word. “I can promise you freedom if you can promise me you’ll never lie to me.”

Fuck.

I want it. I think I may even deserve my very own happily ever after. Are they real? According to movies and books they’re attainable. But this isn’t a movie, or even a fucking book.

This is my life.

And I’m going to try to get it.

“No lies, ever,” I whisper.

AUTHOR BIO:

I don't do 'normal'.

I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader.
I take the normal and switch it around.
For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be.
I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different.
My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre.
My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second.
I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is!
I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come.....
Til next time.

M xx

Synopsis

Detective Mike Sterling walked away from his dream job telling himself it was to honor the promise he’d made his mother, while lying in a Chicago emergency room. A year later, he’s still fighting the demons that followed him back to his boyhood town.

Taryn Watts is an award-winning designer, going from project to project, living from a suitcase. Her plan for Renlend Kansas was the same as always. Go in, get the job done and get out, just the way she likes it. Growing up as a cop’s daughter, her every move was controlled. When she escaped to college she vowed to never fall in love with a cop –ever. Until she found herself sitting across from the ruggedly handsome stranger. Looking into Mike’s ice blue eyes they pulled her, called to her, but there was a haunting in them she knew too well.

Mike is drawn to Taryn, her passion for her work and her stunning beauty left him breathless, but what surprises him most is the peace he feels when he’s near her. Maybe it’s because Taryn is a temporary addition to his town and his secret is safe, or maybe it’s because she makes him feel safe. Can Taryn forget he’s a cop and give him her heart, or will his demons drive them apart?

About the Author

When asked ‘when do you have time to write’, Amy Gregory simply laughs.  The real answer is, “in bits and pieces”.  She and her husband live in Kansas City with their three fantastic kids that keep them running in three very different directions.  Because she sits so much, she always carries a notebook with her at all times.

She has an off the wall, snarky, off the cuff sense of humor that often shocks even those who’ve known her for years.  And she loves that her children have all been blessed that ability to make others laugh as well.  At least she’s grateful most of the time!  Her husband often teases her about how she “makes this stuff up” when he’s reading a piece of her work. … The answer—“it just comes to me when I’m typing”. Scary thought, huh!

Review:

Oh Mike! One of my favorite characters! I loved his brother Carter and his wife Molly in Gregory's other series and the brief glimpse of Mike in those books. But Now... I have completely fallen in love with these characters and Gregory's writing style.

The new characters introduced in this book and series are fun and show a new story line to get wrapped up in. I really enjoyed the direction this book took us. I was also really happy to get to read Mike's story. We get insights in to his amazing character in the Racing to love series, but I truly enjoyed this read.

The witty humor and the fun loving atmosphere the author creates time and time again keep me coming back for more. Gregory writes another great. This one beginning a new series that I have already fallen for and cannot wait to dive into the next installment. A truly great read. I am a huge fan!
