LEANN'S REVIEW: After I'm Gone (Laura Lippman)

Title: After I'm Gone

Author: Laura Lippman

Publisher: Harper Collins

Summary:

When Felix Brewer meets nineteen-year-old Bernadette "Bambi" Gottschalk at a Valentine's Dance in 1959, he charms her with wild promises, some of which he actually keeps. Thanks to his lucrative-if not all legal-businesses, she and their three little girls live in luxury. But on the Fourth of July, 1976, Bambi's comfortable world implodes when Felix, newly convicted and facing prison, mysteriously vanishes.

Though Bambi has no idea where her husband-or all of his money-might be, she suspects one woman does: his devoted young mistress, Julie. When Julie disappears ten years to the day that Felix went on the lam, everyone assumes she's left to join her old lover-until her remains are eventually found in a secluded wooded park.

Now, twenty-six years after Julie went missing, Roberto "Sandy" Sanchez, a retired Baltimore detective working cold cases for some extra cash, is investigating her murder. What he discovers is a tangled web of bitterness, jealously, resentment, greed, and longing stretching over three decades that connects five intriguing women: a faithful wife, a dead mistress, and three very different daughters. And at the center is the man who, though long gone, has never been forgotten by the five women who loved him: the enigmatic Felix Brewer.

Somewhere between the secrets and lies connecting past and present, Sandy will find the truth. And when he does, no one will ever be the same.

Review:

This book had me on the edge of my seat. It was not an easy read! Written from different points of view and different time periods the book takes you on a mystery that spans years and tears a family apart. It is truly an incredible read.

The characters are deep and have many hidden secretes. It is all part of the mystery. One man's crime, true love and mistress all wrapped up in one heck of a read. A great page turner. I was eager to solve the puzzle. Just when I thought I had a part figured out I was hit with another twist! Highly recommend this intriguing
 read!

Review:

The best book in this series so far. I loved it! The whole book I was hoping Hawke would come around. Mazim is a fantastic villain I wanted to kill myself. I got so caught up in Hawke's story. I love that there will be more Ferals now and I can't wait for Wulfe and Fox story Fox is new in this book and I think he will turn out to be my favorite  Feral. I loved his humble character. This is a fantastic read I highly recommend.

LEANN'S REVIEW: Savor (Monica Murphy) Billionaire Bachelors club #3

New York Times bestselling author Monica Murphy concludes her sexy Billionaire Bachelors Club series with a fiery romance that refuses to be left at the office…

Review:

I had no idea what to expect from this book. I haven't read the first two and I was really unsure jumping in to this series in book 3. I am thrilled I did though. This book was amazing. I am a true fan now. Murphy hooked me in from page one.

The characters are great! I love Bryn! She is a great character and Mathew is smokin! I loved the humor and the storyline is wonderful. Mathew has a past that follows him and Bryn wants to catch Mathew's eye, but keep it low key. It makes a great read that was hard to put down. Lots of fun!
