Summary:

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Review:

This book is a unique twist to the vampire genre. The story line of this book is so different it leaves you reading on to learn more about this unique vampire and their guardians. The characters are all very well developed and have extensive backgrounds. This leaves you feeling like you know the characters yourself. The whole world is fun and full of excitement.

This book has it all, a hot kick ass girl everyone wants to be and a tall, dark, and sexy badass teacher you want in your life to teach you all the moves to defeat the vampires in your life. ;) Along with loads of other characters you fall in love, magic, vampires, guardians, killer strigoi, and forbidden love. A book I could not put down, I recommend to all my fellow paranormal readers, and could not wait to read the next installment in the series.
