~ Synopsis ~

Making a fresh start in a place you hate. Even tougher with a killer watching...

Jane Osborne left Cambridge and vowed she’d never return. An unexpected twist of fortune results in DC Goodhew bringing her back to the remnants of her old life and a confrontation with the man who killed her sister.

Meanwhile a burning car on the outskirts of Cambridge leads to the discovery of the body of its owner, Paul Marshall. There seems nothing to connect it to either a recent assault, or to Jane Osborne, until a shocking discovery rips Goodhew’s investigation apart.

 Review:

I love a good mystery. And I love the Gary Goodhew mysteries. Bruce hooks me from page one every time. I get so wrapped up in these reads. Twist and turns around every corner. Bruce does a fantastic job of leading readers exactly where she wants them. Making the reads predictable yet completely unpredictable at the same time. I was definitely on the edge of my seat the entire read.

I love Goodhew. The everyday kind of detective. Not over the top or unbelievable but the kind of cop or detective you might see in everyday life. Like I said, Bruce has a way about her writing style. She keeps it real and mysterious. I love reading her work.
